Booking an Appointment

There are three ways to book a routine appointment with the doctor or nurse at the surgery:

  • By telephone – ring 01255 861850 and speak to the receptionist
  • In person – call into the surgery and speak to the receptionist
  • On Line - book your appointment any time of day!  Register on line from this website or at the surgery to enable you to use this secure service.

For more information on opening hours click here.

Length of Appointments

The length of consultations for the doctors and nurses is 10 minutes. If you feel that your problem(s) will require longer than the set time allocated, please ask the receptionist to book you a double appointment (20 mins).

Some reviews and procedures for the nurses will take longer than 10 minutes and the reception staff know the right length of time to book. Therefore if you request a nurse appointment you may be ask the reason for the appointment. We do not need to know any medical details, just an indication, for example blood pressure check, blood test, smear etc. This will ensure that you are booked in to see the right nurse, for the right length of time.

Please note that all blood tests have to be done in the morning in order for them to be transported to the laboratories for testing.

Urgent Appointments

If you need medical help urgently, we will fit you in as soon as possible, but you will may need to wait, the Nurse Practitioners see all patients requesting a same day appointment and these patients are triaged.

Please note we cannot guarantee that an appointment will be with the clinician of your choice.

Routine Appointments

For non-urgent appointments with the doctor or nurse of your choice, and at a time that best suits you, it is advisable to book as far in advance as possible.

Telephone Advice

Clinicians at the surgery do not offer telephone appointments however a message may be passed via a receptionist to a clinician.  The clinician will then act upon the message and advise the receptionist of the appropriate action to be taken.  Clinicians do not attend to messages during clinic times so this is not ideal for urgent matters.
