Booking an Appointment

There are three ways to book a routine appointment with the doctor or nurse at the surgery:

  • By telephone – ring 01255 861850 and speak to the receptionist
  • In person – call into the surgery and speak to the receptionist
  • One Line - book your appointment any time of day!  Register on line from this website or at the surgery to enable you to use this secure service.

For more information on opening hours click here.

Length of Appointments

The length of consultations for the doctors and nurses is 10 minutes. If you feel that your problem(s) will require longer than the set time allocated, please ask the receptionist to book you a double appointment (20 mins).

Some reviews and procedures for the nurses will take longer than 10 minutes and the reception staff know the right length of time to book. Therefore if you request a nurse appointment you may be ask the reason for the appointment. We do not need to know any medical details, just an indication, for example blood pressure check, blood test, smear etc. This will ensure that you are booked in to see the right nurse, for the right length of time.

Please note that all blood tests have to be done in the morning in order for them to be transported to the laboratories for testing.

Urgent Appointments

If you need to see a doctor urgently, we will fit you in as soon as possible, but you will have to wait while patients with an appointment are seen. All genuinely urgent cases will be seen the same day.

Some problems may be solved by speaking to a doctor or nurse over the telephone and if you think that is the case please let the receptionist know and we will arrange for a doctor to phone you back at the earliest convenient time.

Please note we cannot guarantee that an urgent appointment will be with the doctor of your choice.

Routine Appointments

For non-urgent appointments with the doctor or nurse of your choice, and at a time that best suits you, it is advisable to book as far in advance as possible.

Telephone Advice

Doctors and Nurses are very happy to give telephone advice but it is important to know that not all problems can be dealt with over the telephone. The receptionist will make a note of the telephone number you can be contacted on and usually the doctor/nurse will ring you back at the end of surgery. If there is any change to this, the receptionist will let you know.
